I am a DONA certified Birth and Postpartum Doula, serving the Twin Cities and close surrounding areas. I am a wife and mother of 2 children, a dog, and 2 goldfish. I enjoy reading almost anything, practicing yoga, cooking nourishing meals, traveling, camping with my family, and seeing live music.

I have a BA in English and Technical Communication, and I have gathered much life experience from having worked a variety of jobs in many fields. I have been a writer, sold high voltage power equipment, have worked in a group home and in a nursing home, have been a makeup artist, and have been a stay-at-home mom to my children. The most meaningful jobs I’ve held are ones that have called me to nurture and care for others. I also have a passion for women’s health issues, alternative and integrative medicine, and the mind/body connection. I think we are only starting to scratch the surface of what it means to truly live in health and wellness. All of these passions and experiences - as well as being a mother myself - led me to become a doula, holding sacred space for women during one of the most powerful and important journeys they can make - the path to motherhood.

I believe birth is a normal, physiological process. I believe in a woman’s innate ability to give birth, following her instincts and trusting her body. I believe in the power of peaceful and gentle birth. My role as a doula is to be a guide on the birth path – to provide helpful information, essential support during birth, and to care for the birthing woman and her partner. I support and encourage a mother’s choices judgment-free, offer physical and emotional comfort, and help to facilitate a birth experience that satisfies a family’s wishes, wherever and however the birth takes place.
