Postpartum Doula Services
The adjustment period of parenthood feels less overwhelming when you have a trusted and knowledgeable person available to address your questions and concerns. It is for this reason that families value the help a postpartum doula offers. Postpartum doulas usually work with families in the first 6-8 weeks postpartum, but arrangements can be made ahead of time for families needed service beyond that time.
What I do as your postpartum doula does changes from day to day, as the needs of the family change. I do whatever a family needs to best enjoy and care for their new baby. A large part of my role is education; I share information about baby care with parents, help the mother recover from birth, and teach siblings and partners to help care for the mother. My goal as your postpartum doula is to help ease the transition of having a new baby in your home. I offer you reassurance and encouragement, while teaching you how to care for your newborn.
I offer a complimentary 30-60 minute interview via phone or in person, to determine if we are a "fit." You may arrange this while still pregnant, after the baby comes, or in conjunction with my follow-up postpartum visit if I am your birth doula.
Examples of what may be included in my services:
My fee is $30/hr. Daily work hours: M-F, 10am-7pm. I am available for shifts of 3 (minimum) to 6 (maximum) hours during the day, beginning any time after your birth.
A deposit of $180 will be collected upon hiring, and will be applied to the first 6 hours of service. Minimum total purchase of 12 hours.
Weekly hours are to be agreed upon ahead of time, and I am to be paid before I leave you at the end of the week.
